On August 13, 2023, VNU International School celebrated the graduation of 586 new graduates from various training programs, including Bachelor of International Business, Bachelor of Accounting, Analysis and Auditing, Bachelor of Management Information Systems, Bachelor of Informatics and Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Business Data Analysis, Bachelor of Management (affiliated with Keuka University, USA), Bachelor of Hotel Management, Sports, and Tourism (affiliated with Troy University, USA), and Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (affiliated with the University of East London, UK).
The 2023 graduates are very special as they just entered the university environment when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. VNU International School’s teachers and students have proactively and creatively found solutions to apply technology to ensure training planning and quality. Despite going through difficult times, many students still strived to study and achieved early graduation and proud academic achievements. In the 2022-2023 school year alone, VNU International School students have attained many achievements in science competitions as well as innovative ideas. Students of the University won first prize in the Hackathon programming competition in the northern region, first prize in the startup and innovation competition of VNU; There are 02 students (out of 06 students in Hanoi City) who achieved the title of 5 noble value students at the central level. In addition, VNU International School’s student groups are very actively participating in scientific research, and 22 students have had scientific publications in international scientific journals/yearbooks.
2023 marks the first cohort graduates of the Business Data Analysis major of VNU International School. Students in this program engage in learning and research within a dynamic and culturally diverse environment. Beyond receiving comprehensive professional training, students also actively participate in various extracurricular activities to enhance their soft skills and gain valuable practical professional experience.
As per the findings of an independent survey conducted by the Center for Quality Assurance and Testing in 2023, 60.1% of students secure employment before graduating. Additionally, 97% of graduates from the University’s training programs quickly find suitable job positions and develop their career right within the first year after graduation. Many of them have risen to managerial and leadership positions in various agencies, large corporations, and multinational enterprises. Notably, some graduates have embraced their entrepreneurial spirit, contributing to job creation within society.
Addressing the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Trung Thanh, VNU-IS rector extended his best wishes to the incoming students, urging them to harness their intelligence, courage, determination, energy, and enthusiasm to live up to their abilities, missions, and responsibilities. He encouraged them to begin their journey today and strive for significant achievements in the future.
Dr. David Van Buskirk, the representative of Troy University in the United States, shared that memories of the joys and challenges during their university years could paint a vivid picture of the graduates’ lives. This serves as evidence that they have supported each other in overcoming difficulties and moving forward together. Associate Professor, Dr. Gary Giss, also representative of Troy University in the United States, emphasized that the graduation ceremony is not just an end but a beginning and a continuation. He believed that the graduates would bring honor to their teachers with their successes, continue to build a lifelong learning tradition, lead, shoulder social responsibilities, and contribute to the communities of Keuka University and the International School.
Nguyen Phuong Anh, the top-performing graduate in the International Business program, who graduated ahead of schedule, also shared her heartfelt thoughts during the ceremony. “Over the past four years, VNU International School has equipped us with three valuable assets: Firstly, the ability to think logically through well-structured lectures, the dedicated teaching of professors, and international-standard curriculum. Secondly, proficiency in using English – one of the top-priority skills sought by employers. Lastly, the confidence gained through extracurricular activities at the school.”
