On May 4th, 2026, students from the Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management program at VNU – International School participated in a field trip to Meliá Hanoi Hotel. This experiential learning activity was organized as part of the academic program to strengthen the integration of theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, while providing students with direct exposure to a professional working environment in the international hospitality industry.

The program commenced with a formal welcome session hosted by representatives of Meliá Hanoi. The delegation was warmly received by Ms. Diep (Human Resources Manager), Ms. Thu (Training Manager), Mr. Thomas (Director of Food & Beverage), and the hotel’s professional team. During this session, students were introduced to Meliá Hotels International, along with the development and operations of Meliá Hanoi in the Vietnamese market.

Through the presentation, students gained comprehensive insights into the organizational structure, operational model, and service standards of an international hotel system. In addition, the speakers provided detailed information on career requirements, essential competencies, and professional development opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry, enabling students to better understand and plan their future career pathways.

The program continued with a guided tour of the hotel’s functional areas, where students had the opportunity to observe operational processes across different departments. This hands-on experience allowed them to better understand service procedures, interdepartmental coordination, and the high standards required to maintain service quality in an international hospitality environment. The activity played a significant role in reinforcing classroom knowledge through real-world application.
Overall, the field trip provided valuable learning experiences, enhancing students’ industry knowledge, professional awareness, and career orientation. It also contributed to strengthening the partnership between VNU International School and Meliá Hanoi, paving the way for future collaboration in training, internships, and the development of high-quality human resources in the hospitality sector.
